Cinematery: Tim Burton's Summer of Surreal

By Historic Congressional Cemetery (other events)

4 Dates Through Sep 01, 2023

ABOUT ABOUT

It's back! Cinematery returns in 2023 except this time it's a little...stranger. Director Tim Burton has delighted audiences for decades with his trademark surrealist, bizarre, and dark vision. His films are a natural fit for four evenings amongst the stones of the cemetery grounds. We hope that you will join us for the Summer of Surreal, screenings of four iconic Burton films.

Feel free to bring your own beverages and food.  Alcohol is permitted and will also be for sale. Keep in mind that all guests will be ID checked upon entry. We also recommend bringing your own blankets, low lying lawn chairs, etc. Please do NOT bring chairs that may obstruct the view of those behind you.

Gates open about an hour before sunset (June 7:30pm) and the movie begins at sunset, (June 8:30pm). Times are adjusted for the earlier sundown times in August and September.

Reservations are required. The recommended donation is $10 per person, although you are welcome to give more.

Films will be featured on the first Friday of each month this summer. Join us for the whole series!
June 2Alice in Wonderland
July 7The Nightmare Before Christmas
August 4Batman
September 1Dark Shadows

All donations go towards our 501(c)3 nonprofit and the continued preservation of our historic cemetery.
